Hey all!
It’s been a few weeks since the last monster but to me it feels like a lifetime. As some people may know, Jen and I were hit in a head on collision on 4-20. We’re okay for the most part but I broke my sternum in a couple of places. Since then, I’ve been essentially bedridden. This sucks and I haven’t been able to sit up for long periods of time and do a lot of things (this includes drawing).
SPOILER ALERT: Monster Mood for 4/20-to-Whenever is going to be me lying in bed, trying sit up without hurting my my chest.
What does this mean for Monster Moods? We’re kind of on a bit of hiatus. I’m way excited to draw again and I hope I can soon but I have to take my health into first priority. That is, unless you want a bunch of monsters who just say “Ow, my chest” day-in and day-out drawn by my laptop’s track pad. (I can provide that for you!)
And with my health, I hope you’re willing to accept that these monsters are going to be coming at a not so frequent basis until I’m fully operational again. Until then please check out some of the people who draw and inspire me, I’m not even friends with them so this is, like, a real recommendation.
and others that I cannot be bother to find the links for.
Now I want to talk about something a little more scary… monetizing my output.
You may notice that my Project Wonderful ads are gone, this is partly because of my inactivity over the last few weeks and it’s also because no one was really bidding on this site. At the height of Monster Moods before Christmas, I was generating a lot of traffic and enough interest that Project Wonderful ads were getting just under a dollar a day.
This doesn’t sound like a lot but it’s amazing to be getting any money at all when it comes to producing on the internet. I was never looking to make Monster Moods my job or anything but I was hoping to generate some money through ads so I could have my own ads on Project Wonderful. Maybe then more people can see me do something that I think is really neat.
I’ve thought also about doing things like posters or t-shirts or other things that I could offer you guys for purchase but outside of setting up a SpreadShirt store, I have no idea how to go about offering these things to you. Maybe someone knows and can leave a comment telling me.
I want to keep doing this and I want you guys to keep enjoying this so if you have any ideas please leave me some comments on how we can make this more awesome!
I appreciate your continued patronage! Now I’m going to go try to remember how to use a yo-yo and watch more VHS tapes of old Saturday Morning Cartooon blocks.
